VW Scirocco R

New Car Detail + Zaino finishing.

Having previously detailed his Mk5 .:R32, the customer purchased a brand new Scirocco R (one of the first in the country). Knowing what damage dealers can inflict on a car when preparing it for the customer he opted for them not too touch it at all. It did raise a few eye brows and questioned a couple of times. So it arrived with all the dirt from being left in the docklands, stickered and markings all over it. Amazing to see what happens when the dealers don’t touch a car…

So as it arrived…

With the dealer not touching it, there was a residue of delivery wax on the car, chalk markings and stickers which would have to be removed before the deep cleanse could begin. So the exterior was jetted off with warm to hot water to rid the wax and remove any loose dirt. Then the chalk markings were treated with an all purpose cleaner which melted them down…

Then worked with various brushes to completely rid all evidence…

Once all the extra contaminates and stickers were removed it was onto the deep cleanse. Much needed with all the dirt built up with its long delivery miles…

Onto the paint inspection, which just illustrates how they do arrived in perfect swirl free condition and how dealers add defects to the paint by preparing it with second rate products.

All completely swirl free apart from the rear spoiler which had very light marring which would be due to it being installed by hand. The paint was then machined with a one stage system to sharpen up the reflection and rid any holograms which may have been there. Couple of pictures after this stage…

This left the finishing stages, which would be 6+ layers of Zaino depending on time left and curing times. Once complete the car had a very good reflection – even for a bright white car and very chrisp. Finished shots…
