TVR Tuscan

Correct Refine and Shine Detail.

As one of the admin team to a local TVR forum, the customer wanted the car conditioning for an up and coming show in the north west for TVR owners. The main concern was the exterior, which was in end of some a much needed attention. Being a black metallic paint, time had not been kind to it and was looking decidedly dull and grey in appearance. So it was decided that the  Correct, Refine and Shine Detail would be best with a high gloss, wet look finish. As the car is a weekend toy durability wasn’t an issue. Chemical guys range was deicide upon for the finish products.

When the car arrived it was straight into the deep cleanse stages.Pre wash citrus snow form was applied and allowed to soak…

After about 5 minutes..

Having dragged off most of the loose dirt and contaminates on the car, it was then shampoo foamed and worked over with a very soft long haired mitt. After this the car was clayed to remove all of the bonded contaminates which the deep cleanse stages left behind. As you can see it was heavily contaminated; considering that was after 1/4 of the bonnet…

Once clayed the car was washed to rid the residue claying leaves, brought inside and dried where the paint was inspected… Tightly packed swirling, deep scratches were found all over the car and would need more care than normal…

Also lots of holograms or movement in the paint…

After lots of testing the right pad and polish combination was found and 3 course correction would be needed. But the results were worth it…

Lots of metal flake popping in the light

Not being able to reach certain parts, the rear screen was removed to correct and give access to other parts…

Once full corrected the end result was very deep glossy sharp finish…

Once the correction stages were complete the car was washed down to rid any polish residue leaving it ready for layering finishing products onto.

Inside again and the car was layered with Chemical guys Black light, left for several hours and then Chemical Butter Wet Wax over that leaving an unprecedented level of wet look gloss shine, making the curves look like liquid! Windows were then worked over in and out with 3m glass cleaner and sealed with Xtravue.

The results…
