Porsche Cayman S

Correct Refine and Shine detail.

Being the third car detailed for the same family they were familiar with our work and wanted their Cayman matching the condition of the other two cars. Having already completed a paint inspection and test section, there were no hidden surprises like thin spots or Porsche’s infamous ‘sticky paint’. The customer also wanted to know what could be done to improve the wheels appearance as they looked slightly faded, so these were also taken off for polishing.

On to the deep cleanse…

The car had been maintained well by the customer and subsequently there were very few bonded contaminates on the paint.Being fairly hard paint, the defects in the paint were more of a minor scratch than swirl marks or marring…

As you can see the depth of the defects are slightly deeper than average. Having done a test section, both a medium to heavy compound and pad were used for the initial correction stage. It seems bugs like smooth corrected paint too…

On with the correction and it was up on the ramp to make the lower parts more accessable…

Big brother over looking…

Whilst in the air the wheels were also taken off, deep cleansed including tar, brake dust and iron removal – which when added together over time can affect the look of the wheel, dulling the colour how ever much you wash them.

After…

Once the car’s paint work was corrected and 95% defect free it was then refined using a finishing polish and very fine soft finishing pad which left these results…

Once all the protective 3m tape had been removed it was moved outside for a post polish wash to rid any compound/polish residue…

Once dried using the black baron drying machine to insure no marring occurred it was then layered with a glaze to really bring out the vibrant colour and finished with Dodo Juice Supernatural wax. Finished results plus video…

Shame, but this picture as spots due to our camera needing a service…

Video walk around of the finished detail…
