New Car Detail.

The newly purchased GTR hadn’t been prepared by the dealership by request of the customer and promptly brought over the next day to PD HQ for a new car detail finished with strong durable protection.  Before it had left the dealership, it had the front facing parts wrapped in 3m Venture-shield which had been applied very well. Only noticeable evidence is the added orange peel.

The paint inspection revealed no swirling to the paint, but there was faint marring in places. Having chatted with the customer, he decided on Zaino products for the detail. Z-PC for a light machining to rid the marring and haze as the paint had gassed off a little, then 6+ layer of Z2, AIO, Z6 and Z8.

On to the Deep cleanse stages. No real build up on the car, but the paintwork did have a certain ‘grittiness’ to it. As the car arrived…

Pre-wash soak…

After the wash stages, the car was then rid of any bonded contaminates using a very fine grade clay. This removed the grittiness from the pait leaving it perfectly smooth ready for the next stages. Inside and patted dry with a very soft drying microfibre towel by DoDo Juice, so no extra marring was inured.

The paint was then subject to a single stage machine polish using Z-PC to rid holograms and the small amount of marring.

Sharpened reflections…

With a smaller pad the front and rear light lenses were corrected also ready for coating with Xtravue glass sealant.

The lights and glass were then cleaned and cleared of any chemicals then inspected before the Xtravue Glass Sealant was applied.

Once the residue was cleared it was time to layer up the Zaino…
