Business Helicopter

6 Seater Business Helicopter.

Originally booked in for external dry wash and leather clean, it soon became apparent the helicopter needed full reconditioning inside and out. The exterior had a sticky oily slick all over the body which was covering a very rough surface to the polyurethane paint. This appeared to be over-spray from previous paint repairs.

Interior was very faded and also sticky from previous ‘valeting’.

As we arrived we gave certain panels a wipe down to inspect.

As you can see on the left the residue covering the body. Gentle wipe over revealing roughly heavy swirled paint work.

After various pad/polish combinations to see which was most effective, the paint correction started:

Very few deep marks remained after the initial cut stage. Deep metallic gloss returned to the paint ready to be refined. Here are a few before and after shots:

Upper nose:

Rear tail:

Upper part to rotar. Poor paint repair leaving it lifeless:

After the correction stages were complete, the final refining stage released a very deep glossy finish ready for coating.

Once coated the exterior was complete:

Onto the interior. The main concern with the interior was the poor condition leather which was thought to be dye transfer, but unfortunately was ware through the finish.

First job with the helicopter’s engineer was to remove the interior so the leather could be connolised and the carpets deep cleaned with various equipment and techniques.

As you can see the leather was in a bad way, in need of full leather connolising treatment.

Before and after of the pilot seats

Big shout out to LTT Leathercare who upon arrival, perfectly matched the colour to a exchangeable interior piece which was in perfect condition.

Passenger seat:

After the carpets were deep cleansed everything reassembled looking as it should:

Once the leather was back to near perfect condition, it was sealed with LTT Leathercare auto protect guard to reduce wear and dye transfer going forward.

Completed, just the finishing touches:

Landing gear wiped down and protected:

Tyres coated with Gtechniq T1:

Dash area carefully deep cleaned and de-dusted

The final, final touch – tyres coated on the tractor unit used to move it in and out of the hanger:
